the braillenote n100 supports a wide variety of audio and video files. the list includes mp3, wma, and mpeg4 files and is rounded out with gif and jpeg files. you can even browse the file system to find media files. a video player is also available that you can use to play video files. video is limited to playing back mpeg4 files. the pocket loox n100 includes a microsd card slot for memory expansion. the microsd card is removable and can be replaced with a card of up to 32gb. the media player's dolby and mp3 surround sound support can play several genres of music, and navigation voice files are available for a wide variety of languages. the stereo headphones have a long cord. you can either plug the headphones into the unit's 3.5mm stereo jack, or you can use the bluetooth antenna to connect to bluetooth-enabled devices. there's no option to play music through the integrated speakers. if you want to listen to music, you'd need to plug in your headphones.

when connected to a bluetooth-enabled device, the navigation maps are automatically loaded onto the pocket loox n100. this is great if you have a bluetooth cell phone, pda, or bluetooth headset, but if you don't have one of these items, then you'll have to manually load the maps for your destination.
in addition to its navigation and poi functions, the pocket loox 600 has a calendar. one of the calendar functions is to quickly locate a particular day, month, or year using the built-in calendar. the calendar displays the year, month, day, and week. a calendar icon is displayed at the top right of the screen, and clicking the icon brings up a list of the days in that month. at the top of the list is a button to select the month, followed by a button for the year. the date for the selected day is also displayed. the system will display the month and day in a week-long format, and the date in a month-long format. for example, the month may display january for the day, and the day as the 1st of the month. while the month and day are displayed, the week is displayed as well. the calendar can be configured to a user's preferred time zone. it can be set to a time zone that is anywhere in the world, as well as a local time zone.
